1.Xochimilco, Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo with Optional Lunch

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 7,320 reviews · 9 hours (approx.) · from $34Our pick

Spend about nine hours exploring colonial Coyoacán, one Frida Kahlo museum, UNESCO-listed Xochimilco and UNAM’s mural-covered campus. A guide handles the long distances and timing. Choose a shared tour from a central meeting point, or upgrade to private hotel pickup, museum entry and lunch.

“An enjoyable day. Guide David was great - experienced, knowledgeable, and capable of looking after a large group. The boats were a fun experience. Lunch was good, and Frida Kahlo house visit was great. It was a long day, and an hour longer than expected. The university visit was so-so, with a bit too much free time late in the day.”

English-speaking guides such as Alexa, Yair and Diana lead the visits, with transport and key admission fees included. Expect long days, walking, traffic and possible shopping stops.

“Overall a great experience. The second day with Coyocan, Frida Kahol museum and Xochimilco was outstanding. Guides for this day were excellent (Mario, Yayur(?) and our driver Carlos). Pacing of the day and all of the information they shared were great. First day was with pyramids, and basilica of Guadeloupe. Our guide Alexa was good but not nearly as engaging as the guides the second day. The trip to Rafael’s shop the second day was actually quite enjoyable. Restaurants were fine but I would have preferred more choice. Like free time in Coyocan to eat along with our stop there rather than stopping at the restaurant.”
